Haute Heat (pronounced “Hot Heat”) is a start-up empowering women to take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of their family by carrying concealed. Targeting women interested in self dependence or personal protection, their goal is for customers to be able to touch, feel, and try on their products. They participate in trade show and in-home sales events, with plans to expand their online presence.
Donna, the owner of the company reached out to us asking if we can help with designing a logo and a website.
Being focused on providing women options for concealed carry, presented in a safe and comfortable environment where they can “touch it, feel it and try it on”, we merged the concept of the slogan into the logo style. The logo is an emblem with the centerpiece containing their initials “HH”. In this case the logo looks touchable or tangible, the feministic and elegant approach feels approachable, and it is a “practical” logo design where buyers will get a sense of the bright and vibrant brand. The last part of their slogan “try it on”, in the manner of trying on concealed carry clothing, is characterized within each letter “H” as a gun. The concealed guns may blend in, but on further scrutiny the guns – which are central to the brand’s product line – stand out.

Pink was the color preference by the owner and one that we tend to agree with as well, due to their target market being women and the symbolic nature of the color being associated with the female gender. As a clothing company with a goal to provide women with various clothing options to holster a concealed weapon that is designed specifically with a woman’s body and outfits in mind, such a color was perfect as an obvious reference. The pink emblem with a curvy logo outline has a feminine spirit and a strong visual identity (brand).
